The Chick-fil-A Bowl leads all bowl games in charitable and scholarship contributions. This year, the Bowl contributed a record $1.2 million to charities and educational institutions, and the Chick-fil-A Bowl has given $5.8 million to various charitable organizations over the last eight years.
Now the Chick-fil-A Bowl is taking a lead in environmental responsibility, by beginning our journey to to become the greenest bowl game in the country. Together with our partners, we have established four initial areas of focus.

Recycling

There will be a total of 693 recycling bins located throughout the GWCC, tailgating parking lots, and the Georgia Dome during the game. Parking lot attendants will make recycling easy for tailgaters by passing out specially marked bags for all recycled goods, and then coming back by later to collect them. Please recycle cans and bottles by giving it back!

Green Energy

The 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl will be powered with Green Energy from Georgia Power. Georgia Power's Green Energy Program is Green-e certified by the Center for Resource Solutions, and the electricity is produced from local renewable resources. Home Depot will be handing out 10,000 coupons for Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs to fans on game day that are recycling.

Sustainable Printing
We have begun the process of converting all of our print projects over to FSC certified printers. The Forest Stewardship Council is a certifying body that ensures forests are managed responsibly.
Fans can help by recycling paper.

Share the Wealth

We can't always plan it exactly right. Which is why our hospitality partners will be donating left over food to local food banks or composting what is left.
