What Are The Teams Saying About the Chick-fil-A Bowl?

Tommy Bowden (Head Coach, Clemson)

“The Chick-fil-A Bowl does a great job of translating the experience to the team, with the entertainment for the players and the hospitality. Geographically, it's great because we're in a location where our players’ families can come. Playing indoors is a big deal – our players are getting to practice and play on a field that they hope to play on someday. With their hospitality, sponsorship and facilities, this is as good as any bowl, including the BCS bowls.”

#54 Quentin Groves (Auburn)

“I love it man, it’s a great bowl.  I spoke to some of my colleagues around college football and they say they like the Chick-fil-A Bowl better than any other bowl. I think because it’s the type of people you are around. That speaks volumes for the bowl game as well as the people they have working the bowl game. I thank God that we got a chance to even be in this bowl game.”

The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the first Play It Smart sponsor to completely fund and implement the program on a district-wide basis in a single city.

“College football holds a special place in the hearts and minds of Atlantans, and we are working to make the city a power center for the activities of the National Football Foundation,” said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. “The Chick-fil-A Bowl’s leadership in support of Play It Smart is a wonderful way for us to showcase the power of our organization and its ability to positively shape the lives of young football players into tomorrow’s leaders.” READ COMPLETE STORY

The ACC leads the SEC in the rivalry series 8 games to 7 since the two conferences first began to
battle for regional bragging rights in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in 1993. Teams from the ACC have outscored their SEC rivals 302-300 in what has turned into a very “streaky” series. The ACC won four straight from 1992-1995 followed by five years of SEC victories 1996-2000 which was followed by another four-game ACC run 2001-2004. The tide shifted again in 2005 when LSU defeated Miami and then Georgia upset Virginia Tech in 2006.
