Chick-fil-A Bowl Volunteers Make It Happen
Be a part of the Biggest Annual Sporting Event in Atlanta December 26th - December 31st, 2008
The Chick-fil-A Bowl is much more than a game. With more than 20 events, Bowl Week is packed with activities and excitement. This is your opportunity to be part of the Chick-fil-A Bowl experience! Volunteer for these great events: Parade, FanFest presented by Coca-Cola, MVP Tailgate Party presented by BB&T, and various bowl luncheons and dinners.
Volunteers will be required to attend Festival Division meetings beginning in November for orientation and event committee specific duties. Please see the Festival Division Meeting Schedule for meeting dates and times.

How To Volunteer
Register to become a Chick-fil-A Bowl Volunteer
We are pleased that you are interested in volunteering for this annual event. The 2008 Chick-fil-A Bowl promises to be bigger and better than ever as we celebrate our 41st Anniversary. We have new volunteer opportunities available this year with the majority of them taking place from Friday, December 26th to Wednesday, December 31st, 2008. We look forward to working with you.
Key information you should know before registering:
- Requirements: All Volunteers must register online, must be 18 years of age or older and sign a release waiver. Registration is easy and should only take about 5 minutes.
- Volunteer Categories: There are 3 volunteer categories to choose from.
- Festival Division Volunteers – this category is open to all who are interested in participating in activities during the month of December. There are volunteer opportunities available throughout Bowl Week, however, all opportunities at the actual game have been filled.
- Team Marketing & Selection Volunteers – this is a By Invitation Only committee.
- Ticket Sales Campaign Volunteers – this category is open to those who are interested in selling tickets throughout the fall.
- If you are a volunteer who participates in more than one of these categories please contact Lee Hilderbrand for assistance in registering. Schedule: Bowl week will be December 26th – December 31st, 2008.
- Uniform: All Festival Volunteers will be required to purchase an official Chick-fil-A Bowl shirt. This year's uniform will be a short sleeve golf shirt (approximate cost is $27.00) with the option to purchase a jacket (approximate cost is $30.00). Ladies, we will again have women's sizes available this year. Volunteers will need to wear khaki pants and comfortable shoes. The Bowl will provide name tags and T-shirts complimentary for all volunteers.
- Secure Information: The information obtained on this site will only be used by the Chick-fil-A Bowl Staff. We will not share, trade, sell or give access to your personal information to any other organization without your permission. Festival Division Committees & Responsibilities
Bowl Week Committee
Purpose:
Assist with the execution of all Bowl Week events including, but not limited to, all banquets, luncheons, assistant coaches dinners, hospital visits, Chick-fil-A Bowl Parade, FanFest presented by Coca-Cola, and the MVP Tailgate Party presented by BB&T.
Descriptions of a few Bowl Week events are listed below.
- Chick-fil-A Bowl Parade – Held the morning of the Bowl game; you can help create the excitement as 30,000 spectators line the parade route. This event offers volunteer opportunities in the areas of Parade Marshals, Crowd Control, Balloon Handlers, Logistics and Operations, and Staging Areas.
- FanFest presented by Coca-Cola – Before the top-ranked ACC and SEC teams take the field, you can help run the ultimate pre-game festival for 25,000 fans. Volunteers are needed for Team Walks, ticket takers, pep rally, autograph areas, interactive games, and informational/directional/greeters
- Banquets and luncheons include the Football Feud, a special Bowl event honoring the senior athletes from both bowl teams and the ChevronTexaco Scholarship Luncheon and Chalk Talk presented by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution , an event that honors the top-10 student-athletes from each bowl team along with the top-40 Georgia high school student-athletes.
Protocol Committee
Purpose:
Serve as liaisons to the families of both participating teams during Bowl Week.
Serve as liaisons to the WinShape Homes Charity.
Champion's Campaign
Purpose:
To help improve the team selection of the Chick-fil-A Bowl by building local support and selling out the Bowl game. Ticket sales will help increase team payout and fund all Bowl events.
Events:
Reward parties held throughout the football season.
Top Team/Company is recognized on the field before the game.
